Research Cooperation Sought

INFORMAYA (The Maya Research, Information and Forestry Extension Service), an independent organisation of Maya professionals and volunteers who are working to fill the gaps that exist in information about agriculture, forestry and rural development in Guatemala, is looking for publications, media (software, videos, etc) used equipment and counterparts around the world. With your help, INFORMAYA will operate as a research, extension, scientific and technical information centre with a question and answer service (Q&A) service for individuals, NGOs, schools, universities and government organisations in Guatemala and the rest of Central America.
At this time, our initiative has no direct access to the Internet nor financial support, therefore we would appreciate very much any publications (past and future issues) and media on any issue and in any language for our library.

The Tropenbos Foundation is looking for a partner institute in Europe to coordinate the research programme in Côte d'Ivoire. Generally, European partner institutes of the Tropenbos programmes provide a coordinator for the research programme who maintains links between the researchers in the field, the local partner institute, her or his own institute, and the central office of the Tropenbos Foundation in Wageningen, the Netherlands.

Forest management plans for tropical rainforests
The Tropenbos Foundation is planning to make an inventory and study of management plans for tropical rainforests, with the aim to produce a manual for the development of management plans. Tropenbos would therefore appreciate your help in locating any information on management plans, both existing and in preparation, for tropical rainforests, either directed at conservation or at sustainable management or both.
