Announcement of evaluation decision: August 2004

On 6 December 2003 the EuropeAid Cooperation Office of the European Commission published the 2003 call for proposals of the Programme on Environment in Developing Countries and the Programme on Tropical Forests and Other Forests in Developing Countries (Budget Line B7-620). Actions to be financed under this call should be development oriented, though research may be a minor component. Deadline is 9 March 2004.

• For the Programme on Environment in Developing Countries there are two themes for this call:
  • Actions to support developing countries' participation in and implementation of Multilateral Environmental Agreements (CCD, CBD, FCCC, and Chemicals Conventions),
  • Follow-up to the World Summit for Sustainable Development, Johannesburg 2002.
• For the Programme on Tropical Forests and Other Forests in Developing Countries there are three themes identified for this call:
  • Good governance (with 3 sub-themes: illegal logging, forest ownership, and sustainable forest management),
  • Climate change and forests in developing countries,
  • Value of forests in developing countries.
